Frequently Asked Questions
What is unique about your products or service?
We started Phalanx Shooting Systems to provide customized AR pattern rifles to anyone wanting to compete in the Precision Rifle Series Gas Gun competition. We saw a need for accurate customized rifles as opposed to full custom (read: very expensive and plan on a six month wait) or off-the-shelf (read: spend money and time making it fit and shoot accurately after you buy it) rifles. Our goal is to give you a competition level rifle, at a reasonable price, in less time -- regardless of whether you are a competitor, hunter or just want to have fun at the range.
What kinds of guns do you sell?
Our focus is on AR pattern rifles customized for each customer. However, we are a licensed gun dealer and can sell any non-NFA firearm or device. (That means no silencers, full auto, Short Barrel Rifles, etc.) In 2021 we do plan to get our SOT to license us to sell NFA items. We don't operate a brick and mortar store, but we partner with several distributors online to get you the best deal on whatever firearm or accessory you want.
What kinds of guns do you build?
We build customized AR pattern rifles tuned for accuracy. By customized, we mean rifles assembled from components we have tested and found to perform well. We offer rifles at multiple price points depending on the specific components used, but all provide sub-MOA shot placement out of the box. Every part in our rifles is US made.
How long does it take to get a customized rifle from you?
It varies. Occasionally we will have a rifle in inventory that matches your needs, or one we can modify to do so. That will be quick. (A couple of weeks or less.) The unknown is lead time from different component manufacturers - especially barrels! We can't control that, but we will notify you of potential delays and work to see how we can meet your needs expediently.
How much will a customized AR cost?
In the Hot Rod world, there is an old saying, "Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?" The same is true with guns. But our goal is to get you the most speed for your money. We have rifles ranging from $1,300 to $4,000 without optics. Our complete rifle packages are obviously more but provide you the benefit of being able to take the rifle out of the case (included) and shoot better than you ever believed an AR could shoot.
What is the Phalanx Barricade System and how do I use it?
The PBS consists of three main components; our Angle Block, the Small Block and the Universal Adapter. They may be used separately or in combination depending on your need at any time. Basically, they allow you to brace your weapon against stable items you may find such as fence rails, trees, logs, window sills, door frames, etc. to improve shot placement and recoil management. They are small, lightweight and quickly deployed without tools. The Universal Adapter allows you to use other devices, such as bipods, tripods and bags that typically require tools to install or can't be securely attached to your weapon, to be deployed securely, repositioned or removed instantly. They simply slide and lock onto a Picatinny rail with the push of a button.
I see some products in your online store, but how do I order a custom rifle or service?
We're all about personal service, so we would like for you to call (800-393-0157) or email (info@phalanxshootingsystems.com) us with your questions or specific needs. Don't worry, we won't give you a hard sell! We realize this is kind of old fashioned, but that's how we do business. Our page shows our current inventory. The Phalanx Barricade System is brand-new so prices and lead times have not been set as we are currently investigating manufacturing and distribution options.
